Wednesday Evening at 7pm is when the teens from CBC and their friends get together for a time of their own. The CBC youth group is a place where you can meet other teens, ask honest questions and get honest answers about the situations you are facing; finding out what the Bible – God’s Word has to say, and have a great time!
Some of the activities include overnighters, Winter Retreats, Shore Trips, Ministry Activities. In the youth Building there are games like pool, foosball, ping pong, and air hockey.
In October, we goes as a group to the Word of Life Superbowl, which is an all night activity that includes: attending a professional sports games, youth rally, pizza, bowling, roller skating, and extreme games.
In the Winter, the group takes a trip up to Schroon Lake New York for Snow Camp. During the weekend there are opportunities for horseback riding, snowmobiling, skiing. There are sports competitions in volleyball and basketball. The whole time is high energy!
In the Summer, we take a trip to Wildwood for the Closer Walk Weekend. A full weekend of two nights sleeping out on the beach, use of the Morey’s Pier, concerts and special speakers with a heart for young people. |
There are so many pressures on teens today. Youth Ministry at CBC was created to provide a place where a teen can get practical help for dealing with all the pressures they are under every day.
But youth ministry is far more than just sitting down and learning something. We believe that youth ministry strengthens the whole person. Youth group is a place for making friends, building relationships, learning how to cope, and growing as a young adult.
CBC Youth meet every Wednesday Evening from 7-8:30pm. Most regular meetings start our with some games and relationship building activities. Then we move on to a time of instruction and prayer, and ending up with food!
Dare To Be A Daniel!
Like we said, a teenager today has a lot of pressure from the world around them. We believe that the best way of dealing with all this pressure is through a relationship with Jesus Christ. By ‘Daring to be a Daniel”, we are encouraging young people to “rebel’ against the pressure from society, peers, and other culture; and stand out as a leader who will not compromise convictions and beliefs.
Why Daniel?
Daniel was a young man when he was taken into captivity. He was removed from his home country — Israel, and transported to the city of Babylon. From the moment he got there, he was confronted with the pressure to change everything from his eating habits to his language. Daniel EVEN spent a night in a lion’s den ( a form of execution — dinner for a lion) rather than compromise his belief’s. The result — God protected him, he was vindicated, and those who trumped up the charges against him ended up in the belly of the same lion. What an example to follow! |
